Miguel and Nico & Vinz will be headlining the 2016 Sun God Festival, announced AS Concerts and Events on Monday. Both artists are internationally known for their work, including hit songs “Am I Wrong” (Nico & Vinz) and “All I Want is You” (Miguel).
Miguel’s first hit album “All I Want is You” debuted in 2010 and included three songs which hit #1on Billboard’s Hip Hop/R&B chart. His second album, Kaleidescope Dream was nominated for a total of four Grammy awards. HIs latest album, WILDHEART was released on June 29 of this year.
Nico & Vinz, the singing/songwriting duo originally from Oslo, Norway, began in 2009 and have developed their music from a variety of “eclectic influences.” They are known for their song “Am I Wrong”, which earned an NRJ award for “Song of the Year” and a Spellman award for “Hit of the Year”, and is well on its way to achieving double platinum status in the United States.
This year’s lineup also includes Great Good Fine Ok and Paradise, as well as UCSD’s Battle of the Bands winner. The festival will be held on April 30 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at RIMAC Field. To receive a wristband valid for entry, students must register online.
An unknown fifth artist will be announced closer to the date of the festival. More details to come.
