Shooting Leaves One Critically Injured in La Jolla Village

A 47-year-old man was shot Wednesday night while walking away from his vehicle at the Cambridge townhouse complex in La Jolla Village near Villa La Jolla Drive and Morning Way, according to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD).

SDPD responded around 9:46 p.m. to the 3100 block of Morning Way, located approximately a quarter-mile south of UC San Diego’s Rita Atkinson Residences, to a call regarding a shooting, Officer Darius (DJ) Jamsetjee said in an email to The Triton. Officers later learned that the victim self-transported to the hospital.

The man sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the stomach and is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was in a vehicle when the shooting took place. There are no further descriptions of suspects or vehicles involved.
