Luke Christopher to Headline Fall Y’all Festival 2017

Luke Christopher and Mating Ritual will perform at this year’s Fall Y’all Festival on Sunday, Sept. 24th.

Associated Students Concert and Events (ASCE) announced the lineup last Thursday. This year marks the third year of the Fall Y’all Festival, which was headlined by Casey Veggies in 2016 and Joywave in 2015.

Luke Christopher is a 24-year-old Van Nuys born, San Fernando Valley raised singer-rapper-producer and another up and coming artist. He recently debuted his second major label EP TMRWFRVR with ByStorm Entertainment and RCA Records on July 28, 2017. His first dual-release EP TMRW & YSTRDY from 2015 garnered attention from magazines like Teen Vogue and The Fader. The EPs feature “Roses” and “FAMOUS,” songs that speak to his ability to traverse different genres of music. Another one of Christopher’s more well known singles, “Mountains”, has over two million listens on SoundCloud.

Mating Ritual is an Indie rock one-man-band with alternative songs and sampling styles. Mostly, they ask listeners to consider the sound and structure of M83, subtract the French subtleties, and add some “Los Angelean coolness.” Some of group’s most popular songs are “Game” and “Cold.”

Food options at the event will include California Kettle Corn, Hammonds Gourmet Ice Cream, Belinda’s Familia Mexican Restaurant, and, for a dining dollar friendly option, two HDH food trucks. Passion Planner will hand out free planners to the first 2,000 students who register.

Students can register and pick up their wristbands with their student ID starting at 12 p.m. across from the Price Center ATMs near Warren Mall on the day of the event.
