GoldLink, Pham, and courtship. will perform at the seventh annual Hullabaloo event on November 17, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. in Matthew’s Quad.
Headliner GoldLink from Washington, D.C., is a rapper formerly named D’Anthony Carlos. GoldLink got his start with The God Complex, a free mixtape first released on SoundCloud in July 2014. GoldLink then collaborated with famous music producer Chet Faker on the smooth and sensual track “On You.” In 2015, GoldLink signed with RCA Records, a record company owned by Sony Music. GoldLink most recently released his debut studio album At What Cost. This ambitious and funky album features artists Kaytranada, Brent Faiyaz, Wale, and many more. GoldLink’s North American and European At What Cost Tour begins this month in Long Beach, CA, where he will perform at the Queen Mary’s Tropicalia Festival.
courtship. is an indie-pop band based in Los Angeles, California. courtship. got their start in 2016 with the release of their first single, “Stop for Nothing.” The band most recently released another single entitled “Tell Me Tell Me” on September 12. With their upbeat, synth-pop tracks, courtship. is sure to please fans of bands MGMT and STRFKR.
Pham, born Dawid Phan Ngoc, is a DJ, artist, and producer from Poland. His first EP, Movements, came out in 2016, and featured hip-hop artists Yung Fusion and Lox Chatterbox. Pham’s most popular single, also entitled “Movements,” has now reached over 25 million listens on Spotify. His newest EP Ugly is a five-track collaboration with singer Austin Paul. With its smooth electric guitar and mysterious baseline beats, “Ugly” has a slower hip-hop vibe. Pham then continued on tour with Louis the Child and Vanic, two music acts that have contributed much to the growing future-bass genre.
These three artists will perform sequentially at Hullabaloo 2017. Hullabaloo is an annual music event hosted by UCSD Associated Students Concert and Events (ASCE) that will consist of musical performances, free food, and carnival rides.
