The annual homecoming festival, Fall Y’all, is being moved to RIMAC Field taking place on Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Associated Students Concerts and Events (ASCE) announced the move citing safety concerns on August 16.
Due to the increased number of first-year and transfer students for the 2018–2019 school year, Fall Y’all has since outgrown its previous location at Warren Mall. The move from Warren Mall to RIMAC Field supports a safe and secure event for the growing crowds, according to the University Events Office and ASCE Advisor Anthony Tran. This decision came after communication with UC San Diego Police, the Recreation Facility Team, Athletics, and other campus parties.
Formerly known as the All Campus Dance, the event was originally held in Price Center Plaza in 2014, and has since moved from Sun God Lawn, Warren Mall, and now to RIMAC Field. The event has grown from a simple dance to a campus-wide festival in only four years with recent headliners including Luke Christopher, Casey Veggies, and Joywave.
Fall Y’all 2018 will continue to have free food vendors, alcohol education booths, and art installations alongside the main stage performance.
The event is free to all UCSD undergraduates with a valid student ID, and entry wristbands can be picked up the day of the event at the Thurgood Marshall Tennis Courts from 12:00 p.m. to 10:30 pm.
